My name is Kandler Pustka and I am 8 years old. I am a member of the Lovelady 4H Club and I attend Lovelady Elementary. I bought 5 rabbits with my own money that I have been saving. I spent $400.00.
I have been waiting a long time to be old enough to join 4H and to raise/show animals. My momma raised show animals when she was in school and so did my brother. Raising animals has taught me responsibility, patience, leadership/communication skills and heartache. I had 1 of my rabbits die because I left the cage open while I was getting hay and one jumped out and my dog got it. While I wanted to blame my dog and get mad at her, I had to accept that it was my responsibility that caused my rabbit to die.
While I am very sad that the show has been canceled, I am so thankful that I am able to participate in an online auction thanks to our HCF board. With this experience just about over, I am looking forward to next year.
