My name is Collin Lovett, I am 9 years old, and in the 4th grade at Grapeland Elementary, where I am a member of the Grapeland Junior FFA. This is my second year to be entering a market hog in the Houston County Fair, but would have been my first year to actually show, because my hog last year died shortly after validation. I have had my hog "Bacon" since November, and I have learned a lot of responsibility taking care of her, feeding her twice a day, and making sure her pen was cleaned and raked regularly. The last time that my dad and I weighed my hog was March 11th, and she weighed 215 pounds at that time. I have approximately $1,075 invested in my hog so far this year. I am looking forward to next year's county fair, and I am very thankful to our Fair Board for organizing this online auction for us to try to help us get back some of our expenses.
